We will have a Christmas Chapel that everyone is invited to attend tomorrow at 8:35am. Hope to see you there!
Tomorrow the students are allowed to wear jeans and spiritwear unless their homeroom teacher gives them other directions (i.e. jeans and Christmas sweaters in Kindergarten.
Second semester starts January 4th.
We anticipate the gym and cafeteria being done by the time the students come back for second semester. The kitchen staff needs to be trained on how to use the equipment so students need to bring a SACK LUNCH January 4th, 5th, and 6th.
To my knowledge, we will be serving hot lunch on January 9th.
Please have a blessed and restful Christmas!

Allison Dolak

Eagle Weekly 9/16/11
Dear Parents-
It is very clear in the Bible that adults are here to set an example
and protect the children. In Psalms, it reminds us that ALL childrenIt is very clear in the Bible that adults are here to set an example
are a gift from God, not just our own. This directly correlates to the
environment that we have established at ILS. Unfortunately, I have had
several reports in the last week regarding parking lot safety. Irealize that children move a little slow at times, but that is not a
reason to try to make up time by driving fast in the parking lot
and/or accelerating quickly. Please have patience, as a school parking
lot is never the place to make up lost time.Thank you for your
immediate attention in this matter.
As you witnessed on Wednesday, we changed up rain dismissal....again.
From now on, we are going to dismiss in the rain, just like we do
everyday, by having the two lanes of traffic circle the parking lot.
There are just too many cars and I would rather have the kids get a
little wet than have cars backed up on Highway N during a bad rain
storm. If there is a chance of rain, PLEASE make sure that your child
has a raincoat/coat with a hood so that they stay as dry as possible.
Thank you!
Please come by on Monday and donate blood at our blood drive from
2-6pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Have a safe and blessed weekend.

Counselor's Corner
Below is a message from our School Counselor, Mrs. Rutledge:
Counselor’s Corner
Meet Mrs. Rutledge
My name is Carla Rutledge, a part time school counselor from Footprints Christian School Counseling Services. This year I will be serving at Immanuel on both Monday and Thursday mornings. It is both a pleasure and an honor to work with students and staff at our school. I am a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Charles and a mom to three school-aged children.
A school counselor is a trusted adult at a school who can help students by providing three types of counseling services. First, a school counselor teaches monthly classroom guidance lessons to all students in grades K-8. Our main topic for September is feelings, but a wide variety of guidance subjects are taught throughout the year. Second, individual counseling or one-on-one meetings with students about a particular concern may also take place. Finally, small groups will be available for multiple students to have lunch together and talk about a particular topic such as friendship or family changes.
If you have questions about Immanuel’s developmental guidance program or would like to speak with me about your child, please contact me on MONDAYS or THURSDAYS at Immanuel or through Fast Direct.

Parent Forum Notes from Open House
Dear Parents-
Thank you for coming to the Open House last night.
I know that some people could not make it, so I am sending a re-cap of the parent forum.
-Our school theme is "Uplifted" based on Psalm 121
-We have a record breaking K-8 enrollment of 195 and a Preschool of over 200. We are SO BLESSED!
-School starts on Tuesday, August 16th. Chapel is at 8:45am. Parents are invited to attend!!
-Dismissal on the first day is at 11:30am. STUDENTS NEED TO WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL EVEN THOUGH IT IS A HALF DAY. There is no aftercare on this day.
-We have a new Associate Pastor...Rev. Todd Liefer
-We have added a new Assistant Principal position that is being filled by Mrs. Tammy Brenningmeyer. (Do not worry, she is still teaching 1st grade, but she will also be handling student relations and discipline).
UPDATE ON THE NEW GYM:
-We are anticipating an October completion date. It is a full high school size gym, with a cafeteria and a full service kitchen.
-We will be using Boone Trail and S. Middle School for practices and games (Volleyball).
PARKING LOT UPDATE:
We must have everyone following procedure carefully. The traffic flow will be in a horseshoe pattern that consists of two lanes (just like last year). Please follow traffic directions and pay attention to where staff are directing you so that dismissal procedures go smoothly. If you plan to make a right out of the parking lot make sure you are in the right lane. If you plan to make a left out of the parking lot make sure you are in the left lane.
Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop off or pick up line. If you need to park, please do so on the east side of the building.
PLAYGROUND:
The playground is safe to play on during construction. We have cleared the field accross the parking lot for the children to play on. This field is where the future soccer and baseball fields will eventually go.
COMPUTERS:
There is a 27 unit computer lab for all of the classes to use in their daily curriculum.
Thank you so much to Todd Weber, Rich Oswald, Shane Middendorf and Mark Schlogl for completing this classroom and the 7th grade clasroom this summer.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE:
Due to the construction, the door that students should use is the regular school office door. When you get to that door, please press the button on the gray intercom box to the right and a staff member will buzz you in. If you have any questions, please contact Shirlee Nolting at 636-639-9887.
HANDBOOK UPDATES:
-The handbook will be online at ilcsw.net on Monday, August 15th.
-Feathers: Feathers are not allowed to be worn at school because they are dangerous during recess, PE and extra-curriculars.
-Social Media Law-Students should not have Facebook accounts until 13 years of age and should never contact a teacher via Facebook on their individual accounts.
If the teacher has a "page" that is open to the public, that is acceptable because it is not private. This also applies to text messaging. Students cannot text teachers directly on their personal phones. If you have more questions regarding this new law in the state of Missouri, please ask.
FALL SPORTS:
The first volleyball practice will also consist of a parent meeting at Boone Trail. The meeting will be at 3:45 on August 22nd. This is available for girls in grades 5-8.
Cross Country will also start for grades K-8, for more information please contact Shelley Brown.
PARENT NIGHT:
We are having a parent night on August 25th so that you can visit your
child(ren)'s classroom and ask any questions you might have of the teacher. This event will take place from 6-8pm. Please mark your calendars.
We are very excited about this school year. Please remember to "Uplift" the teachers, staff, students and their families in your prayers daily.
