Note from the Principal (4-29-11)

Dear Parents-
Today marks the end of mid-quarter. Progress reports will go out next week. Also,
next week is Cystic Fibrosis Week. As you may or may not know, we have a few
Immanuel families that have been affected by this terrible disease, so it is very near
and dear to our hearts. All chapel offerings on Wednesday will go to the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation and on Friday your child is allowed to wear a purple shirt
which is the “official color” of Cystic Fibrosis Week. Please keep all those dealing
with this disease in your prayers.
We have had a few cases of Fifth’s Disease (a.k.a. Slap cheek) in PS-8th grade.
Fifth disease is a viral infection caused by parvovirus B19. The virus only infects
humans. Symptoms can include a low fever, cold symptoms and a red rash on the
cheeks, arms, legs and trunk. Adults who get it might also have joint pain and
swelling. By the time you break out with the rash, the disease has passed through
your system and you are no longer contagious.
It is easy to catch fifth disease. Infected people have the virus in their saliva and
mucus. You can get it when you come into contact with those fluids. Frequently
washing your hands might help prevent getting the virus. Most people become
immune to the virus after having it once.
Fifth disease is usually mild and goes away on its own. However, it can be serious
if you
• Are pregnant (in your first trimester)
• Are anemic
• Have cancer or a weak immune system
I hope to see you at tonight’s play, “The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf!” It is going to be
a great performance.
Have a great weekend!
In Him,
Allison Dolak

EW-4.8.11

Dear Parents-

Happy Friday! Our school had our mid-cycle accreditation this week and
we got a great report! We are going to be adjusting some of our
accreditation goals to fit our ever changing needs. We are being
blessed with growth at a rapid rate. I am going to be sending home a
survey before the end of the school year regarding what our parents
view as our needs.

I also want to give you an update of where we are in our building
process. We are waiting on final approval of the loan. We had to have
someone come out and assess our current building so we should be
hearing back shortly. Please continue to keep this in your prayers as
we are going to be "moving dirt" very soon.

Also, we will be hearing in the month of April who we are getting as
our Associatet Pastor. We have requested a 2011 graduate of the
seminary.
As you can see this is a VERY exciting time at Immanuel, so again please
keep the school and church family in your prayers!

We have many fun activities and performances planned for your family
in the up and coming weeks. I hope you enjoy these events and I want
to say a special "thank you" to the students and teachers for all of
their hard work!

I have regular updates on Immanuel's Wentzville's Facebook page and on
my Principal's Blog at
http://ilcswprincipalspage.blogspot.com/.
Please become a follower of both as I try to make regular updates on
both sites.

I hope you all have a blessed weekend.

In Him,
Allison Dolak
